Methodology

Entity classification into Essential / Important follows an automated scope engine over public registers:

  • NACE code (RPO SR / ARES CZ) mapped to Annex I and II of Directive (EU) 2022/2555
  • Size per Article 2 of the Annex to Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC: a medium-sized enterprise has fewer than 250 employees and annual turnover up to €50M or a balance-sheet total up to €43M; a small enterprise has fewer than 50 employees and annual turnover or balance-sheet total up to €10M. Exceeding the small-enterprise ceilings makes a firm at least medium-sized; exceeding the medium-sized ceilings makes it large
  • The radar takes headcount (RÚZ) and turnover from the latest financial statements. It does not count the balance-sheet total or data of partner and linked enterprises (Article 3 of the Annex to the Recommendation), so a firm may land in a different size class than a full assessment would give
  • Essential entity under Article 3(1)(a) NIS2: an entity of a type in Annex I that exceeds the ceilings for medium-sized enterprises. Important entity under Article 3(2): an entity of a type in Annex I or II that is not essential; in the radar that is a medium-sized Annex I entity and a medium-sized or large Annex II entity
  • The radar does not identify entities that are essential regardless of size or on other grounds (Article 3(1)(b) to (g)): qualified trust service providers, TLD name registries and DNS service providers, providers of public electronic communications that qualify as medium-sized enterprises, public administration entities, entities designated by a Member State and critical entities under Directive (EU) 2022/2557. These are assessed individually
  • NIS2 classification recomputed weekly; sources RPO, RUZ, ARES, FS (entyrix.com infrastructure)
